Sendsei is a browser extension that reviews an email draft before you send it. This policy explains exactly what data Sendsei handles, where it goes, and what happens to it.

Sendsei is operated by Christopher Giancola, contactable at hello@sendsei.org.

The short version

When you click “Check before send,” Sendsei reads the draft you are composing and sends it to our server, which passes it to Anthropic’s API to generate the review. The draft is processed to produce your review and is not saved to our database. We do not sell your data, show you ads, or use your emails to train any model.

What Sendsei collects

Email draft content. When — and only when — you click “Check before send,” Sendsei reads the draft currently open in your Gmail compose window: the subject line, the message body, and the recipient addresses. Sendsei does not read your inbox, your sent mail, or any message you are not actively composing and submitting for review.

Context you choose to provide. If you fill in the optional review form (who you are emailing, what you are trying to achieve, your relationship, your intended tone, how high-stakes the email is), those answers are sent along with the draft to inform the review. Every field is optional and can be skipped.

Your email address. Used to create your account and to send the magic sign-in link.

Usage counts. The number of reviews you have run in the current day, so daily limits can be enforced.

Subscription status. Whether your account is on the free or paid plan, and an identifier linking your account to your subscription in Stripe.

Sendsei does not collect browsing history, location, contacts, or any data from sites other than the email interface where it operates.

How that data is used

Draft content and any context you provide are used for exactly one purpose: generating the review you asked for. They are transmitted to our backend and on to Anthropic’s API, the review is returned to your browser, and the content is not written to our database.

Your email address is used for authentication and, if necessary, to contact you about your account. Usage counts enforce daily limits. Subscription data determines which features your account can access.

Who your data is shared with

Sendsei relies on a small number of service providers to function:

  • Anthropic — receives your draft and context in order to generate the review. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models. See Anthropic’s privacy policy for details on its own handling and retention.
  • Vercel — hosts the backend that processes review requests.
  • Supabase — stores your account record (email address, plan, usage counts, subscription identifier).
  • Stripe — processes payments. Payment card details are entered directly with Stripe; Sendsei never receives or stores your card number.

Sendsei does not sell your data, share it with advertisers or data brokers, or transfer it to anyone else except as required by law.

What Sendsei does not do

  • We do not store the content of your emails.
  • We do not use your emails to train any model — ours or anyone else’s.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.
  • We do not serve advertising.
  • We do not track you across websites.
  • We do not read email you have not explicitly submitted for review.

Retention

Draft content and context exist only for the duration of the request that produces your review. They are not written to our database.

Account data — your email address, plan, usage counts, and subscription identifier — is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, this data is deleted.

Our servers keep operational logs (request timing, error codes, HTTP status) that do not contain email content.

Limited Use disclosure

Sendsei’s use of information received from Google APIs, and of all user data, adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide and improve the user-facing review feature, is not transferred except as described above, is not used for advertising, and is not read by humans except where required for security, to comply with the law, or where you have given explicit permission.

Your choices

You can stop Sendsei from accessing any draft at any time by not clicking “Check before send,” or by removing the extension from your browser.

To delete your account and the data associated with it, email hello@sendsei.org and we will remove it.

If you are in a jurisdiction with data protection rights such as the GDPR or CCPA, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at the same address.

Children

Sendsei is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change, we will update this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Where the change is material — for example, if we began storing content we previously did not — we will notify users within the extension before the change takes effect.
